Almost every Zeeland born in the previous century has a story about the PSD (the Provincial Steamboat Services). On March 15, 2003, the car ferry sailed for the last time, thanks to the arrival of the long-awaited tunnel under the Western Scheldt. A great loss for many people in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. They also fondly remember the cup of pea soup and the PSD croquette. A typical Zeeland tradition that was unfortunately lost. Nowadays only the bicycle and pedestrian ferry of the Westerschelde Ferry BV provides crossings. For many tourists that is quite an experience, because with a bit of luck you can spot a seal!
